When Communication Is At Risk
Updated: Aug 22
We often found ourselves in a power struggle with our partners, close relatives, or peers. Conversations can easily turn into heated discussions leading to rows, whereby words become hurtful, judgmental, oppressive, critical, and all over harsh and unkind. Changing the tide of communication is where the interlocutor and the speaker are both meeting on a ground of mutual understanding, where compassion and empathy allows
to build a mutual trust, our feelings being heard, our emotions are given the space and time to be expressed, to be able to feel validated while maintaining the focus on our needs to be met and our pain to be held in a safe place, comprehended. To reach out to our fellow human being we learn how to share our thoughts and walk a journey no longer feeling alone.
